Sept 2008: Busiest Summer Beats the Credit Crunch
Despite continuous reports about the credit crunch and talk of an imminent recession, local recruiter GB Solutions is delighted to report they have had their busiest summer ever with more permanent jobs filled than any previous quarter in their ten year history.
Mike Goode, GB Solutions Director said,
“Every time I open a paper or hear the news, all I seem to hear is credit crunch and bleak economic news so it is really pleasing for us. Most of all it is great news for the people who have found new jobs. Although some sectors are finding it difficult many of our key clients are still actively recruiting.
One advantage of the current economic climate we have witnessed is an increase in the number of good quality job seekers looking to move out of the sectors which are struggling. We have taken a redundant Sales Manager in the retail sector and placed with a IT provider, and a Mortgage Advisor and placed them into a Financial Administration role. Our temporary workers are also at record numbers, as clients look to weather the uncertain economic climate short term.”
