High profile Financial Services business is looking to recruit a Product Development Manager to design, develop and maintain industry leading products (Pensions / Retirement) market. Reporting to Head of Business Development.
Key Accountabilities:
• Carry out the detailed design and development of products ensuring that they are consistent with the agreed proposition, comply with legislative/regulatory requirements and any relevant SLF guidelines, and fully take into account risk and TCF considerations
• Develop and maintain the detailed product specifications
• Provide specialist assistance and advice to the business in respect of products, both during the development phase of a product development and on an ongoing basis, responding to queries in a timely and professional manner
• Manage the development and maintenance of the new business illustration systems
• Support the Proposition Manager in developing product and proposition ideas
• Maintain a sound understanding of relevant competing products in the market and review the product features in the light of findings and developments
• Proactively suggest improvements and other ideas to assist the Sales Team in the selling of products
• Review and sign-off (as appropriate) the product content of the marketing collateral of products
• Keep CPD up-to-date including keeping abreast of developments within the market, new product developments, up-to-date product features, legislation/regulations affecting product design and new business illustration systems
• Uphold TCF Guiding Principles and ensure that the FSA's six desired outcomes are met
Requirements:
• Proven track record of designing and developing products appropriate for the in/at retirement market (E)
• Demonstrable knowledge of products appropriate for the in/at retirement market and their application in the market (E)
• Certificate in Financial Planning (or equivalent) (E)
• Financial Planning Diploma (or equivalent) (D)
• Good understanding of relevant legislation, rules and guidance (E)
• Basic understanding of the taxation of relevant products (E)
• Basic understanding of relevant FSA rules (E)
