We are working with a hugely successful engineering company, that is going through a period of sustainable growth. They are looking for a full-time Estimator to join them on a permanent basis.

As the Estimator you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing technical engineering information, that is used to prepare quotes. You will ideally be an experienced Estimator, have on-the-job engineering experience, or be an engineering graduate.

Responsibilities: 

  • Analyse project specs and collaborate with teams to gather insights
  • Prepare precise cost estimates using software tools
  • Develop competitive bids and justify estimates to stakeholders
  • Source suppliers, negotiate terms, and maintain relationships
  • Monitor project costs, identify deviations, and management reports
  • Maintain organised records and ensure compliance

 

Skills/ Experience: 

  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field would be beneficial
  • You need to be able to build good relationships with customers
  • Able to manage the estimating process; from receiving an enquiry, preparing costs, sending quotes, and following up
  • Background in a similar technical support role, gained within a manufacturing, engineering, or equivalent environment
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Highly analytical, and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • You will need to hold a full driving license – pool cars are available for business travel
