We are working with a rapidly growing, Fintech start-up in the centre of Cheltenham. Our client enables companies to grow, helping them achieve their potential by combining technology, processes, and domain expertise, delivering a best-in-class finance function. They provide support throughout the client lifecycle, from start-up, to exit.

As our client continues to grow, they are looking to expand their HR team, and seek a HR Assistant to take a hands-on-approach, ensuring the people function is successful for both the business and clients. The successful HR Assistant will need to be flexible, hardworking, and passionate about HR.

As the HR Assistant you will be working with start-up, high growth clients, you will need to be confident in building rapport and client relationships. You will work closely with the Director of People, providing clients with advice and guidance on all aspects of the employee lifecycle and supporting the build of People Strategy.

This role is completely flexible, with the option of working from home, with the occasional visit to the Cheltenham office.



  • Manage documentation and coordinate processes
  • Support onboarding and the induction of new team members
  • Support with employee relations matters
  • Work closely with payroll to ensure all monthly changes are submitted and the appropriate paperwork is provided in a timely manner
  • Administrative work to support the needs of the People function


Supporting the Director of People with the following:

  • Consultancy and employment advice
  • Employee Handbook and documentation
  • People administration
  • People software management
  • People due diligence management and support
  • Offboarding


Skills/ Experience:

  • CIPD qualified, or Business Management / HR Degree
  • Understanding of employment legislation
  • Working knowledge of People functions and best practices
  • Knowledge of HR-specific software programs
  • You are hands on with an attitude that no task is too small for you.
  • You are a team player who is compassionate, friendly and always seeks to empower and learn from others.
  • You are process-orientated and always show meticulous attention to detail.
  • You are organised, have excellent time management skills and know what key priorities you need to focus on
