An award-winning PR Agency is looking for an Account Manager to join their account team, based in Cheltenham. As the Account Manager, you will ensure that the right activities are undertaken to deliver the agreed strategies.

You will be an experienced Account Manager, measuring and evaluating past activity, working with the account executives and the senior team to ensure external changes are continually represented in the evolution of the programme.

  • Contribute on a strategic level to the clients’ business, showing an understanding of their commercial environment and the issues which may affect their business
  • Lead the delivery of the communications or community consultation plan, meeting agreed goals and highlighting performance issues
  • Prepare and present plans/recommendations to existing clients
  • Take an active interest in new business activity, networking for leads and playing a part in the pitch process as well as drafting new business documents
  • Understand the process to deliver community consultation
  • Manage ‘incidents’ and monitor crises relatively unaided by a Director/Associate Director
  • Lead and train other members of the account team
  • Manage the work of Account Executives, delegating, briefing, monitoring progress, and ensuring a high quality of delivery by the account team
  • Conduct client meetings and take responsibility for driving a portfolio of accounts forward simultaneously
  • Maintain regular contact with the client (by phone) and build long-term relationships based on trust and value
  • Assume full responsibility for the smooth, efficient, and issue-free delivery of client events (launches, public exhibitions, journalist briefings etc) ensuring all logistics are carefully managed


Skills/ Experience:

  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation, consultation, and negotiation skills
  • Confident, with a persuasive manner
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Good people skills
  • Good understanding of local/national politics/political structures and Governmental/public sector organisations
  • The ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Good business sense and the ability to work to budgets
