As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the finance team and ensuring the smooth execution of financial operations. From overseeing company account preparations to handling accounts payable, cashbook maintenance, and ledger account management, your contributions will be at the heart of the team’s success.

  • Assist the Head of Finance, delivering management accounts with precision
  • Take control of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Pay customer and company PAYE (TAXSOP) & produce quarterly VAT returns
  • Manage the fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation
  • Responsible for internal payroll and pension submissions
  • Maintain and improve processes and procedures
  • Collaborate seamlessly with different teams to resolve queries and foster strong relationships
  • Handle general administrative tasks, ensuring efficient email management, scanning, and phone inquiries


Skills/ Experience:

  • Either part-qualified AAT, or qualified by experience
  • Profound understanding of financial principles, with a keen grasp of journals, debits, and credits
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, fostering effective teamwork
  • Methodical problem-solving approach, showcasing ownership and accountability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Self-motivated and a dedicated team player
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage 200 (desirable, but not essential)
