Our client is seeking a dedicated Group Financial Accountant to join their team in Gloucester.

You will have the chance to oversee financial functions, including purchase ledger and credit control, while contributing to the development of their inhouse finance function. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare management information packs
  • Oversee the purchase ledger and credit control functions, providing line management to two staff members
  • Offer valuable insights and support to the CFO and Group FC, aiding in strategic decision-making and monthly business reviews
  • Collaborate on IT/systems enhancements, focusing on reporting efficiency, management information development, and ERP system evolution
  • Manage key balance sheet accounts and reconciliations for the group
  • Contribute to annual budget preparation for assigned entities and assist in the overall company budgeting process, engaging in periodic reforecasting
  • Support the ongoing development of the finance function, both internally within the department and as a visible presence in the organisation, as a senior member of the finance team
  • Provide ad-hoc information and assistance to central and operational areas of the business as required
  • Assist the Group FC with the annual audit and ensure financial compliance

 

Skills/ Experience:

  • Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Suitable for someone with post-qualification experience looking to make a significant career step
  • Line management experience is advantageous
  • Demonstrated drive and proactive attitude
  • Willingness to engage in developing processes and systems
